By using hairdryerlab.ca you agree to these terms. The short version: this is an information site, not a shop; we publish research and buying guidance; we link out to retailers; and we cannot guarantee that a price, a specification or an availability status is still current when you read it.

Effective date: 2026-10-05

What this site is

Hair Dryer Lab publishes independent research and buying guidance about hair dryers for Canadian buyers.

This site isThis site is not
An information and review publicationA retailer, marketplace or shop
A source of buying guidanceA source of professional or medical advice
A publisher of analysis of public reviews and listing dataA manufacturer, distributor or authorised dealer

We do not sell anything. There is no checkout, no cart, no account and no payment processing on this site.

Purchases happen elsewhere

Every purchase takes place on a retailer’s website, not here. When you follow a link to a retailer and buy something, your transaction is with that retailer and is governed by that retailer’s terms, return policy and privacy policy — not by these terms.

That means:

  • Pricing and availability are set and controlled by the retailer
  • Returns, refunds and cancellations are handled entirely by the retailer
  • Warranty claims are between you, the seller and the manufacturer. We are not a party to them and cannot process them
  • Delivery, delays and damage in transit are the retailer’s responsibility

We may earn a commission on some purchases made through our links. That relationship is described in full in our affiliate disclosure.

Accuracy, prices and specifications

We work to be accurate, and we are explicit about the limits.

Prices change frequently. Every price on this site carries the date we verified it, and we re-check commercial pages monthly. But the price that applies is the one shown on the retailer’s page when you buy — not the one shown here. Always confirm before purchasing.

Specifications come from different sources, and we label them. Where a specification comes from a manufacturer rather than from our own measurement, it is labelled as a manufacturer claim. We have not bench-tested every model we cover, and our guides say so rather than presenting estimates as measurements.

Our review analysis has stated limitations. The review dataset we use skews toward recent and critical reviews, which is why its average rating differs from the ratings displayed on retailer pages. We publish that caveat on our methodology page and use the data for patterns rather than as a substitute for a product’s displayed rating.

Availability changes. A product recommended in a guide may be discontinued, out of stock, or sold by a different seller by the time you read it. Seller structure in particular can change, and seller structure affects who honours a warranty.

We do not warrant that any content is complete, current or error-free. If you find an error, tell us — see contact — and we will correct it and change the page’s last-updated date.

No professional advice

Nothing on this site is medical, dermatological, electrical, safety or professional advice.

Hair dryers are electrical appliances that generate heat, and our guides describe reported buyer experiences and publicly available data. They do not replace the manufacturer’s instructions, the safety information supplied with a product, or the advice of a qualified professional.

If you have a scalp or skin condition, an allergy, or a concern about using an electrical appliance, consult a qualified professional. If you are unsure whether an appliance is safe to use, stop using it and consult the manufacturer or a qualified electrician.

Safety checks we describe, such as inspecting an ALCI plug, are general guidance. They are not a certification that any particular unit is safe, and they do not replace the product’s own safety documentation.

External sites

This site links to third-party websites, including retailers and brand storefronts. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their terms, their privacy practices, their pricing, their stock, or their conduct.

Following an external link is at your own risk, and you should review the destination site’s terms and privacy policy before transacting with it.

Intellectual property

The content on this site — our guides, our review analysis, our data, our design and our branding — is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

You may:

  • Read, link to and share our pages
  • Quote a short passage with clear attribution and a link to the source page
  • Use our published figures in journalism or research, with attribution and with the stated limitations of the data

You may not, without written permission:

  • Republish our guides or substantial portions of them
  • Scrape or bulk-copy our content or data
  • Use our content to train machine learning models for commercial purposes
  • Present our analysis as your own, or remove attribution
  • Use our name, logo or branding in a way that implies endorsement, partnership or affiliation

The “Hair Dryer Lab” name and our logo remain our property. Nothing in these terms grants you a licence to use them.

Product names, brand names and images remain the property of their respective owners. Where we display product imagery from a retailer listing, it is used to identify the product being discussed.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it or its infrastructure
  • Interfere with its operation, or place unreasonable load on it through automated requests
  • Introduce malicious code or attempt to compromise other users
  • Scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others
  • Misrepresent your identity, or misrepresent your relationship with us

We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these terms are being breached, or where activity threatens the security or availability of the site.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

This site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, in relation to this site and its content.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hair Dryer Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of this site, your reliance on its content, or your dealings with any third-party retailer or brand.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Our recommendations are guidance, not a guarantee. You are responsible for your own purchasing decision, for verifying a product’s suitability for your hair and circumstances, and for following the manufacturer’s instructions once you own it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and we change the effective date at the top of the page when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Because this site does not sell anything and does not operate accounts, changes are unlikely to be significant — but if a change materially affects your rights, we will say so on the page rather than only updating the date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada, together with the laws of the province or territory whose courts have jurisdiction over the matter.

We serve Canadian readers and we do not claim a specific province as our governing jurisdiction. Any dispute will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction in Canada.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy a hair dryer from Hair Dryer Lab? No. Hair Dryer Lab is an information site. We do not sell hair dryers, hold stock, process orders or handle payments. Every purchase happens on a retailer’s site, under that retailer’s terms.

Are the prices on Hair Dryer Lab guaranteed? No. Prices change frequently. Every price carries the date we verified it, and we re-check monthly, but the retailer’s price at the moment you buy is the one that applies. Always confirm on the retailer’s page.

Who is responsible if a product I bought is faulty? The retailer you bought it from, and the manufacturer under its warranty. Hair Dryer Lab is not a party to that transaction. We can tell you who held the Buy Box on a listing, which is often the right first contact, but we cannot process a claim.

Can I republish your content? No, not without permission. Our guides, analysis and data are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote briefly with attribution and a link, and journalists should contact us for data requests rather than copying figures without context.

Do you give medical or professional advice? No. Hair Dryer Lab publishes consumer product information. Nothing on this site is medical, dermatological, electrical or professional advice. If you have a scalp condition, an allergy or a concern about an electrical appliance, consult a qualified professional.

Which law governs these terms? The laws of Canada, and the laws of the province or territory whose courts have jurisdiction over the matter. We serve Canadian readers and we do not claim a specific province as our governing jurisdiction.
